Service History

Pampata is a bespoke Broom. Her first owners wanted something a little bigger than the Broom 30, which was already in production, so in 1966 they asked Broom Boats to build a superstructure on a 35ft hull moulded by Bourne of Nottingham. It was subsequently purchased by Aquafibre, close associates of Broom, and used to produce craft both for hire fleets and private owners.
However, of all the boats produced from this moulding, Pampata is the only one fitted with twin engines.
Pampata spent three years on the Thames and in 1969 the boat returned to the Broads. She was sold to RJW Pipeline who kept her for 14 years for entertainment. In 1983 she was bought by Jack Birty and 2 years later by David Frary.
In 1985 Pampata underwent some modernisation, being fitted with an upperhelm position on the top of the existing superstructure.

In 1996 she was kept to a high standard and had various improvements made over the years.
She was recently anti Fouled in April 2011, fully repainted, new hand rails, new fendering, all glass re-sealed. All rot taken out and replaced with mahogany. New wheel house roof, new interior trim, new carpets, teak and holly floor, new oak beams, new chrome switches. Everything has been totally restored shafts cap link bearings, new fridge battery.
