High water at Tidemill Marina, Woodbridge was at 1930hrs on the day of our passage so we had anticipated a leisurely start. The temperature for the previous few days had been in the thirties causing expanding bridge to stay shut. With forecasts for another warm day we decided to take no chances and get through at 0730hrs and wait at Berney Arms for our 1430hrs Haven Bridge lift.
The sea conditions were excellent in a light westerly breeze as the 11 boat fleet made its way to the Woodbridge Haven buoy and then up the picturesque river Deben.
Then for a couple of days of relaxation, shopping & socialising in Woodbridge before returning to the Broads on Monday. Once again the sun came out for us and the sea conditions were very pleasant.A great destination & a super marina – a definite destination for the 2020 Cruising diary.

Thank you all for a great cruise, sadly our last one for this season. We’ve had a great time and really enjoyed meeting new and familiar faces. Special thanks to Speedo for yet more sweat on our engine room floor (hopefully the last time!) – you’re a star. James- brilliant format and organisation as usual, making us feel safe and welcome. Chris – brill video, we’re waiting for the oscars! And our fellow cruisers -sorry again for slowing you down on the way , and many thanks for your company and enthusiasm.
