With summer weather decidedly with us the forecast for our Southwold run looked really good. We had a Haven Bridge booked for our fleet of 12 boats but after rumours of Haven Bridge problems on Thursday circulated several boats booked last minute locks at Mutford just in case. In the event Haven worked perfectly and some came through the bridge and met the other boats just off Lowestoft. Sea conditions were lovely as we made our way down the coast towards Southwold with sunburn being the only thing to concern ourselves with. We rafted up together at Blackshore Quay and settled in for a couple of very pleasant days in this picturesque place with beautiful sunsets.
We departed Southwold on Sunday afternoon and cruised up to Lowestoft for Sunday roast at the Yacht Club which was lovely.
We departed just before 0900hrs on Monday morning for passage to Great Yarmouth and a 1000hrs Haven Bridge lift.
