With fingers crossed December sees the completion of a year long refurbishment of our Service Centre workshop facilities.
The building was erected in the 1970`s by Bounty Boats who built hundreds of their well known models on the site up until their closure in the late 90`s. NYA acquired the property not long after and have operated our service centre from the site since 2003.
Our program of works has included the replacement of the timber piling and walkways with galvanised steel and floating pontoons with all new electric supply bollards and lighting. We’ve also refurbished the staff communal rest room and kitchen!
The latest works have seen the complete removal of old asbestos cladding which has been replaced with modern insulated composite panels on the walls and roof of the main workshop with new roof sky lights.
This has obviously made us significantly more thermally efficient in addition to improving the aesthetic appeal of the building and enhancing the environment for our hard working team.
The last job was to raise the floor of our wet dock hardstanding above flood level with a smart, power floated finish.
