THE AWARD COMES HOME

NYA’s outstanding service is a real team effort, so everyone shares in our Garmin Award – recognition by all those customers who voted for us in the Motor Boat Awards.  The trophy is now proudly displayed at Brundall so everyone can raise a glass to it.  Thanks to all those who gave us their vote.

CRUISING CLUB PREPARING FOR ANOTHER SEASON

NYA’s popular cruising club have announced the first dates for 2014.  All cruises have limited numbers so an early enquiry is a good idea.
  • Woodbridge and Titchmarsh – April 14 -19.  This is currently fully subscribed, but do ask to be placed on the waiting list.
  • St Katharine’s Dock – June 14 -21. This long planned trip is for skippers with some sea experience – again first come, first served.
  • Ipswich and Woolverstone 23-29 August.  See how much fun we had last year at the Cruising Club website.
We are also planning a coastal trip for customers who have not yet been to sea. If you are interested in taking part or would like to find out more, please email Louise at louise@nya.co.uk or call on 01603 713434.

SUCCESSFUL BOAT SHOW WITH SPECIAL VISITORS

It was good to see many old friends and make new contacts at the recent London Boat Show.  Nearly 90,000 visitors were recorded at the show which comes at a time when British built boats are in increasing demand.
Several cruising club members took advantage of continuing warm weather to cruise down to St Katharine’s Dock to be on hand for the show – and of course our Royal visitor spent a good while looking over the Haines 32 as reported below.  It’s probably not quite time for Haines to think about Royal warrants yet, but HRH was certainly impressed.
The new design and clever use of space in the Haines 32 created a lot of interest among many other visitors.  A select few may well soon be on their way to Catfield to find our more of the details and choose their options of engines and fittings.

EXTREME MARINA DAMAGE

Despite storm surges and flooding, it seems that this country’s marinas have survived well through early warnings and good planning.  However, spare a thought for the Cheswick Marina in Pennsylvania, USA.  There ice floes coming down the Allegheny River following the big US freeze have caused a lot of problems. MORE BOAT SHOWS COMING UP

For those who like their boat shows nearer to home NYA is sponsoring two local shows.
Anglia Afloat magazine are putting on their first show on Saturday 1 February at The Wherry Hotel, Oulton Broad. NYA will be taking a boat or two along.  More details at www.angliaafloat.co.uk.
Once again we will be lead sponsor for the highly successful Horning Boat Show on 3 May .  Last year’s show attracted at least 5000 people and proved a great day out for all. We will have more news later, but you can see plans develop at www.horningboatshow.co.uk.

ROYAL VISIT FOR THE HAINES 32 SEDAN

As we reach the half way point of the 2014 London Boat Show, we didnt think anything could parallel our pride after the Motor Boat Awards.  That was until we received a visit from a very special person.
This afternoon, the NYA stand was graced by the presence of HRH The Princess Royal.  Haines Marine Director, Justin Haines greeted Her Royal Highness and proceeded to show her around the latest Haines model.
Princess Anne, a boating enthusiast, was particularly interested in the broad range of engine options and capabilities offered by the Haines 32 and commented on the clever use of space.  After the viewing she was introduced to our sales team and wished us a prosperous show.
We eagerly await her order.

MBM GARMIN OUTSTANDING SERVICE AWARD

NYA scoop prestigious Customer Service award.

Last night Norfolk Yacht Agency beat off stiff competition at the Motor Boat Awards, to pick up the Garmin Outstanding Service Award.  It was a tense night as we waited with baited breath to hear the winner announced. We had been in the final few in previous years and narrowly missed out, so naturally when the big night once again rolled around the familiar sensations of butterflies in the stomach was felt by all.

This highly prized accolade is awarded by a combination of testimonials by customers and selection by panel of judges. It goes without saying that without our valued customers old and new, this wouldn’t have been possible. But still we would like to say a massive thank you!

NYA have always been immensely proud of our high standards of customer care and will continue to raise the bar.

Congratulations to the whole team and once again thank you to everyone who voted for us.

MORE SPACE FOR MORE SERVICE WORK

With more work coming in and new service people, we needed more space for them to work in.  So we have added another building to double the size of our Brundall service centre.  The new building, which is behind our sales office, gives us another workshop, more hard standing and extended river frontage.  An increasing number of boat owners have been relying on us for routine servicing, emergency repair and improvements to their boat.  This new space will help to make sure we can respond as efficiently as ever.

SEE YOU AT THE BOAT SHOW

The NYA sales team look forward to seeing you at the Boat Show at Excel London from 4-12 January 2014.  We’ll be showing the Haines 32 Sedan which has taken the boating world by storm since its launch and has been nominated for the Motor Boat of the Year awards.
The Haines 32 Sedan can be found on stand no. A214. You can book a private viewing by contacting louise@nya.co.uk or calling 01603 713434.   We can also show you the recently finalised plans for the offshore version which will be launched this year.

COMPETING ON SERVICE

NYA is down to the last six in the Garmin award for outstanding service, also to be announced at the show. Nominations come from readers of Motor Boats Monthly who want to record service that goes beyond the call of duty.  Many thanks to NYA customers for once again putting us at the top of the list. The winners will be announced on January 6th at a ceremony at the Landmark hotel.
